The journey takes around 2.5 to 3 hours.
Upon arrival at the jump-off point, board a 4×4 vehicle that will take you across a surreal landscape of lahar fields, dried riverbeds, and mountain views—a thrilling and bumpy ride into the wilderness. After the jeep ride, begin your moderate trek to the crater. The hike takes about 1.5 to 2 hours one way, depending on pace. Along the way, enjoy the scenery of volcanic formations and mountain terrain until you reach the rim of Pinatubo’s turquoise crater lake—a truly rewarding sight.
Relax, take photos, and enjoy your packed lunch with bottled water at the crater before beginning the return hike.
After returning to the start point, return via the same route. Expect to be back in the city around 6:00 PM, depending on traffic.
