Arrival in Basco + North Batan Tour
Upon arrival at Basco Airport, guests are welcomed by their local guide and transferred to their hotel or homestay. After check-in and a warm breakfast, you’ll receive a short orientation before beginning your journey through the northern part of Batan Island.
The tour begins with a scenic visit to Mt. Carmel Chapel (Tukon Chapel), a lovely stone church perched on a hilltop overlooking the sea. At the nearby PAGASA Tukon Radar Station, enjoy panoramic views of the verdant countryside, Mt. Iraya, and Basco Town. If permitted, guests may take a quick stroll through Fundacion Pacita, a heritage lodge that once served as the home of renowned Ivatan artist Pacita Abad.
Next, head to the Japanese Tunnel—a historical World War II site—before visiting Valugan Boulder Beach, where volcanic rocks meet crashing Pacific waves. In Basco town proper, explore Casa Real, Basco Plaza, Kilometer Zero, Sto. Domingo Church, and the Aman Dangat Monument.
Later in the day, stand amidst the vast green meadows of Vayang Rolling Hills and end your tour at Naidi Hills, where the iconic Basco Lighthouse watches over the island.
18:00 Dinner will be served at a local restaurant before heading back to your accommodation.
