DAY 1

Welcome to Batanes: Discovering Basco’s Scenic Wonders

Start your adventure in Basco, Batanes with a warm local welcome upon arrival at the airport. After hotel or homestay check-in, enjoy a traditional breakfast and short orientation to prepare you for the journey ahead.

In the afternoon, begin exploring the charming Municipality of Basco. Visit the Mt. Carmel Chapel, admire sweeping views from the PAGASA Tukon Radar Station, and (subject to permission) take a scenic stop at the iconic Fundacion Pacita Nature Lodge. Continue to the Japanese Tunnel, the dramatic Valugan Boulder Beach, and several viewpoints of the unique Idjang fortresses.

Then, stroll around Basco Town Proper to explore cultural landmarks including Basco Plaza, Casa Real, Kilometer Zero, and Aman Dangat Memorial.

End the day at two of Batanes’ most famous vistas: Vayang Rolling Hills and Naidi Hills with its picturesque lighthouse.

Sabtang Island Discovery: Heritage Villages & Coastal Beauty

5:00 AM Begin early with breakfast before heading to San Vicente or Ivana Port for a short 20–30 minute boat ride to Sabtang Island.

Upon arrival, register and start your cultural journey. Visit the historic San Vicente Ferrer Church, stroll through Savidug Village to see authentic Ivatan stone houses, and pass by the Sto. Tomas de Aquinas Chapel. Learn about traditional craftsmanship at a Limestone Production site and enjoy scenic stops like the Savidug Idjang Viewpoint and Chamantad-Tinyan View Deck.

Continue to Chavayan Village, known for its age-old weaving traditions and coastal charm. Wrap up your island tour at Nakabuang Beach and the iconic Ahaw Arch Rock Formation on Morong Beach.

7:00 AM After breakfast, set out for a full day of exploration across the southern municipalities of Batan Island. Begin with a scenic drive through Mahatao, where you’ll visit the serene Chawa Viewdeck, Mahatao Shelter Port, and San Carlos Borromeo Church, a designated National Cultural Treasure. Get a glimpse of local life in Diura Fishing Village, take in the hidden beauty of Hohmoron Blue Lagoon, and gaze across the vast, windswept plains of Racuh-a-Payaman (Marlboro Country). Cap off your morning at the Tayid Lighthouse, offering views of the Pacific Ocean.

12:00 PM Lunch – Midday break before your journey continues.

In the afternoon, journey through Uyugan, stopping at dramatic sites such as Alapad Rock Formations, the Imnajbu LORAN Station, San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel, and coastal spots like Motchong Viewpoint and Song Song Ruins.
