Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival in Basco + North Batan Tour

Upon arrival at Basco Airport, guests are greeted by their local tour coordinator and transferred to their hotel or homestay. After check-in, enjoy a light breakfast and short orientation about the tour.

In the afternoon, begin your journey through the northern part of Batan Island. The first stop is Mt. Carmel Chapel (also known as Tukon Chapel), a picturesque hilltop church offering panoramic views of the surrounding seas. From there, proceed to the PAGASA Tukon Radar Station, where you can enjoy sweeping vistas of Mt. Iraya, Basco Town Proper, and the island’s iconic hedgerows.
If accessible, take a brief visit to Fundacion Pacita Nature Lodge, a scenic property that was once the home of Ivatan artist Pacita Abad. The tour continues with a view of an ancient Idjang fortress and a walk through the historic Japanese Tunnel. Next, head to Valugan Boulder Beach, known for its dramatic volcanic rock formations shaped by the Pacific Ocean.
The tour then weaves through the Basco town proper, where you’ll stop at Basco Plaza, Casa Real, Kilometer Zero, the Aman Dangat monument, and the charming Sto. Domingo Church.

Cap off the day with a visit to the breathtaking Vayang Rolling Hills, where the land meets the sky in an endless expanse of green, and end at Naidi Hills and the iconic Basco Lighthouse, the perfect spot to catch the golden sunset.

18:00 Return to your accommodation in the early evening. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant.

South Batan Tour – Mahatao, Uyugan & Ivana

After breakfast, embark on a full-day exploration of the southern part of Batan Island.

Begin the day at Chawa Viewdeck, a scenic lookout point perched on the edge of a cliff. Visit the tranquil San Carlos Borromeo Church in Mahatao, one of the oldest and most beautifully preserved churches in Batanes. A short stop at the Mahatao Shelter Port follows before heading to Diura Fishing Village, home to traditional fishing rituals and the spring-fed Hohmoron Blue Lagoon.
Continue to Racuh-a-Payaman, also called Marlboro Country, known for its panoramic views of pasturelands, hills, and the Pacific Ocean. From here, visit the nearby Tayid Lighthouse standing tall above the rugged coastline.
Lunch is served in a quiet local eatery before continuing to Uyugan. Along the way, stop by Alapad Rock Formations and the ruins of Song Song, a ghost village abandoned after a tsunami. Also included are visits to the San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel, Imnajbu Old LORAN Station, Motchong viewpoint, and the Church of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal.
The tour proceeds to Ivana, where you will visit the historic San Jose de Obrero Church, the unique Honesty Coffee Shop (known for operating on trust alone), the House of Dakay—the oldest surviving stone house in Batanes—and the iconic Spanish Bridge.
