An avid surfer, water sports enthusiast, and an ex-professional soccer player who grew up leading the team of Israel in the most prestigious tournaments. Born and raised in the mediterranean coast, Barak developed a deep love and connection to the ocean from an early age.
Throughout the past decade Barak has surfed in some of the world’s most iconic surf destinations, from the powerful breaks of Puerto Escondido to the tropical breaks of Siargao. These experiences have not only shaped his surfing abilities but have also given him a deep appreciation for the diverse cultures and environments that surround these coastal havens.

Born and raised in Cebu, the Cebuano surfer by day, graphic designer by night – he seeks inspiration and recharges his creativity in the water. Blowing off steam thru surf has guided him through ups and downs very much like the tides and winds flow freely like his creativity.

BOOKING INFORMATION
To apply for a Laya experience an initial deposit is requested to reserve your space. The remaining amount is paid a month prior to arrival (See Payment Plans option just added to our experiences).
Private and shared rooms availability are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please book your reservations early to receive your preferred accommodation. We reserve the right to refuse bookings at our discretion.
TRAVEL AND FLIGHT INFORMATION
Please double check availability before booking your flight tickets. Laya Surf Retreats doesn’t include the airfare. We do offer concierge services to help you make all the arrangements needed. If you decide to extend your stay in the area, we can guide you on how to achieve your most desired vacation, from lodging to all sort of inspiring and fun activities.
To enter and exit the Philippines, you must bring a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining before expiration date. Most of the countries are not required to issue a Visa to enter but please double-check with your embassy before booking an experience with us. During the check-in of your flight, you might be asked to show a return ticket from the Philippines before 90 days since the arrival date. All clients must be +18 years old and have medical insurance issued by their own travel agent to join any Laya Surf Retreats experience.
Citizens/residents from ALL countries are currently allowed to enter the Philippines.
LAYA Surf Retreat Terms and Conditions
- Registration and Payment:
- To secure a spot in our retreats, participants are required to finalize the registration process and submit a non-refundable (but transferable) down payment/reservation deposit of 25% from the total amount.
- The outstanding balance should be settled entirely no later than 30 days before the starting date of the retreat.
- Failure to make full payment by the specified deadline may result in the cancellation of the participant’s reservation without a refund.
- Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation Policy: (excluding the 25% down payment and transaction fee)
- For cancellations made 90-60 days before the retreat date, a full refund will be provided.
- For cancellations made 59-30 days before the retreat date, a 50% refund will be offered.
- For cancellations made 29-0 days before the retreat date, no refund will be granted.
Refunds will be processed within 30 days of receiving a valid refund request.
- Retreat Changes:
- The organizers reserve the right to modify the retreat schedule, activities, or accommodations if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Any significant changes to the retreat will be communicated to participants as soon as possible.
- Health and Safety:
- Participants are required to disclose any relevant health conditions or medical history that may impact their participation in the retreat.
- Participants must follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the retreat organizers and instructors during the retreat.
- The organizers reserve the right to remove any participant from the retreat if their health or behavior poses a risk to themselves or others, with no entitlement to a refund.
- Travel and Insurance:
- Participants are responsible for getting to the location which was decided by the retreat organizers.
- It is strongly recommended that participants purchase comprehensive travel insurance, including trip cancellation and medical coverage, to protect against unforeseen events.
- Code of Conduct:
- Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and cooperative manner throughout the retreat.
- Any participant engaging in disruptive or inappropriate behavior, including substance abuse, will be subject to immediate dismissal from the retreat with no refund.
- Media Consent:
- By participating in the retreat, participants grant the organizers the right to use any photographs, videos, or testimonials taken during the retreat for promotional and marketing purposes.
- Liability:
- The organizers shall not be held liable for any personal injury, loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings that may occur during the retreat.
- Participants are responsible for their own well-being and safety during the retreat.
- Legal Jurisdiction:
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the country of the Philippines.
b. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the retreat shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in General Luna City, Philippines, Surigao Del Norte.
All the activities supplied by Laya Surf Retreats carry with them a degree of risk both to people and equipment, even though enjoyed under proper supervision by qualified instructors. They are also some activities that require those taking part to have a reasonable standard of health and fitness.
All clients must inform of any medical conditions, illnesses or allergies they may have and any prescribed medication they might be taking prior booking.
No one should participate in any activity if they are suffering from a heart condition or are pregnant.
No client should in any circumstances take part in an activity while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, which may adversely affect their physical abilities.
After reserving your space, we will send out Liability Release Forms for you to fill up and sign before starting the trip.
There will be NO exceptions to this policy.
Once you book your Laya Surf Retreat, you will receive a Welcome Kit with helpful information you might need for the week. This includes informative description of the area, tips on what to pack, extra activities to explore and much more.
